Junior D – The Mighty Seven Warriors Sound

Junior D’s name was inspired by an artist he admired, Junior Demons. A true lover of all kinds of music, his heart beats strongest for reggae.

His journey into music began at home. His parents owned a gramophone, and one day, curiosity led him to take it apart. Inside, he discovered a 12-watt valve amplifier and a Garrard deck. He set them up in his room, and together with a friend, they bought a 15-inch speaker, built a box for it, and brought their homemade sound system to life.

They began playing music every Wednesday evening at their school youth club. One night, while playing a track titled Amman Warrior, his friend suggested they call themselves “Warrior.” From there, their journey grew — from youth clubs to weddings, christenings, and parties. As more friends joined, the sound system took on a new identity: The Mighty Seven Warriors Sound.

Junior D first hit the airwaves on Ragga FM, where he played for a number of years before moving to Spice Radio 1, where he has remained ever since — continuing to share his passion, deep knowledge, and love for music with his listeners.
