DJ Blue’s journey into music began in the 1970s, deeply inspired by his cousin — a music producer for the iconic Trojan Records — and by figures like Joseph Manson, the legendary “Brixton Cat.” In those early years, he played a supporting role as a messenger, delivering records to countless shops across the UK. That hands-on experience sparked a natural instinct for sound system culture and music selection.

Alongside his friend, the late John Amera of Jah Youth Sound System, he co-founded and played on Matador Sound System throughout the ’70s and ’80s, bringing reggae and roots vibes to the streets and dances.

His musical path took an unexpected pause when he joined the British Army, rising through the ranks to Full Corporal. He served with distinction, including three tours in war-torn Bosnia as an HGV drops driver — a time that demanded full focus on survival and service. But even as music was set aside for safety and duty, it never left his heart.

Upon completing his military service, he reignited his musical career. He launched his own streaming platform, PioneerOneRadio.com, followed by a stint with MuzicRadio.com, where he honed his craft in online broadcasting and live streaming.

Today, he proudly plays on SpiceRadio1.com, calling it a great station with a solid team of DJs. With decades of life experience and musical knowledge, he brings a deep and authentic energy to every show — rooted in history, service, and true love for the music.
